So over the summer the kids and I attended a beach retreat for families with Childhood Cancer called Lighthouse Family Retreat.
We went to retreat when I truly felt like my world was falling apart.
We had such an amazing time being around so many other families going through the same walks of life. For one of the first times in a while I found a group of people who I truly feel like I fit in with. We had a “Host” family that are truly a gift from God. They are all still a gift from God.
Lately I have been feeling like I am doing life alone. The other morning on the way to work I turned on my worship music like I do everyday and the song My Lighthouse came on!
Immediately I text my “Host” family and I happened to be the day before or a couple days before I ended up needing friends that most! God reminded me that even though people aren’t visibly around all the time I have a HUGE network of people who love and care for me Always!
2 different verses came to mind when I was writing this.
John 8:12 “Again Jesus spoke to them, saying, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.””
Psalms 27:1 “Of David. The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?”
Both of these verse talk about that Jesus and our faith should be the light in our darkeness
Just like a lighthouse is used to produce light at night for Ships so they can see where they are traveling.
Jesus will always be our Light in the darkness and so is a huge support system! No matter what and no matter how dark it feels. There is always a light shining, It might seem far away, It might seem like you just can’t get out, or you are stuck. But the light is always there. There is always a lighthouse.
